Cream Cheese Banana Bread 🍌

It’s moist, flavorful, and features a delicious cream cheese swirl that elevates it to the next level. Perfect for breakfast, a snack, or anytime you crave a sweet and satisfying treat!


1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2-3 bananas)
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract

Cream Cheese Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp all-purpose flour


Preheat Oven:
⿡ Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and set aside.

Mix Dry Ingredients:
⿡ In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar:
⿡ In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
⿡ Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Prepare Cream Cheese Filling:
⿡ In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and flour together until smooth and creamy.

Assemble Bread:
⿡ Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spoon the cream cheese filling on top, spreading it evenly. Pour the remaining banana bread batter over the cream cheese layer.

⿡ Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it with aluminum foil.

Cool and Serve:
⿡ Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
